What's Upstairs in Downtown? That question led TCW, in collaboration with Leadership Troy, to create the Second Story Secrets Tour in 2014. Now back for the fifth time the tour has grown and become better and better. The 2019 tour will be held on November 2, 2019 from 3pm-7pm (scroll down for tickets). Tickets are available online or at the door for $30 each or two tickets for $50. The tour offers a rare chance to slip inside the upper floors and little known spaces around downtown. After picking up your map and tour brochure at the starting location, Lunch (4 W. Main), participants can visit the locations in any order. Volunteers are on hand at each location and make sure you stop at our “rest stop” located at SmithFly to relax and enjoy refreshments. The 2019 tour locations include:
Lunch - START YOUR TOUR HERE. 4 W. Main Street,
Smithfly- 210 E. Water Street,
The East Gate Building, 221 E. Main Street, your rest stop for refreshments!
The Dye Building - 5 S. Market Street,
Waterfront Townhomes- NEW!!!
The Wasserman Building with HER Realtors,
The Troy Daily News Building,
The Presbryterian Church Underground Railroad site,
And more….we’re confirming more sites and they will be added to the website soon. And we’ll also have…..The Secret Location!
The Second Story Secrets committee is working hard at making the tour a memorable experience for everyone. Please check back often for tour updates. We are planning on having 8-10 buildings on the tour, refreshments available at the East Gate Building for tour participants, and our map and tour brochure which will give you all the secret details of these buildings. Please remember that Second Story Secrets is a walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to cross city streets and use the stairs. The tour, while open to children, is recommended for those 18 and older due to its historic nature. We also recommend that participants make a night of it and plan to eat dinner at one of our great Troy restaurants!
Tickets are $30 each or 2 for $50. Tickets will be on sale online, but prices increase after October 27th to $35 per ticket with no discounts if you purchase more than one. Online ticket holders will be contacted via email and your physical ticket will be held at the door until the day of the tour. You may also purchase tickets at locations around the square from September 26-October 27, 2019: Mayflower Arts Center, Lunch, Troy Chamber of Commerce, and MT Studio. All proceeds benefit Troy Community Works and proceeds will be directed to a neighborhood revitalization project. Thank you to all our sponsors for helping create this exciting tour.
Thank you to our 2019 Sponsors : the Troy Foundation, Level MB Construction, the Arbogast Performing Arts Center, and Upper Valley Hearing and Balance!
